Agumbe package

Agumbe is a beautiful village located in the Western Ghats mountain range of the Shimoga district in Karnataka, India. Known as the "Cherrapunji of the South" due to its high rainfall, Agumbe is renowned for its lush greenery, dense forests, and stunning landscapes. It's also famous for being one of the locations where the iconic television series "Malgudi Days" was filmed.

Itinerary

  • You will be picked up from Mangalore Airport / Railway station and taken by road to Agumbe .
  • On the way visit Varanga Lake Jain Temple.
  • On arrival at Agumbe check in to the hotel.
  • Visit Sunset View point in the evening or Rest and relax for the day.

  • After Breakfast, Explore Agumbe's lush surroundings, including its rainforests and waterfalls. 
  • Visit Kaveledurga Fort,

    (Also known as Bhuvanagiri Fort, is a fort resting on the top of a hill amidst a dense forest and it requires a trek of at least 5 km to reach the summit. A spectacular combination of history and natural beauty, several shrines to Virupaksha, Vijaya Vittala, Veerabhadra, Mallara and Bhuvaneshwari are housed in the fort. Besides the ruins and an old palace, a mosque built by Venkatappa Nayaka can also be found here. It is also a scenic spot to view the sun setting in the Arabian Sea.)
     
  • Agumbe sightseeing includes Jogigundi Falls , Agumbe Rainforest Research Station , Onake Abbi Falls and Barkana Falls as per time availability.
     

  • After breakfast , checkout and set out to Mangalore.
  • On the way visit The Karkala Shri Gommateshwara Statue, also known as Bahubali statue. ( It is one of the tallest monolithic statues in the world, depicting Bahubali, a revered figure in Jainism. The statue stands at around 42 feet (13 meters) and is located in Karkala, Karnataka, India. )
  • Also visit Thousand Pillar Temple, a stunning example of Indian temple architecture. It's renowned for its intricate carvings, especially on the pillars, which give the temple its name. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus.
  • Later drop you to Mangalore Airport / Railway station depending on your place of departure.
